VP/AVP, Data Scientist, Global Financial Markets

Job Purpose

Develop AI, data analytics, and automation solutions supporting trading desks for better trade idea generation, faster and more accurate trade executions, more efficient trade monitoring and trade review, and effective report generation. The solutions are also to target to eliminate pain-points that addressed day-to-day activities of a trader or sales.

Key Accountabilities

• Understand trader’s requirement and pain points to create and develop AI solutions for better efficiency or elimination of pain points.
• Do ad-hoc data analysis for trading and sales creating economic value through right actions and recommendations.
• Provide analytics solutions for better insights on clients and tracking of financial products.

Job Duties & responsibilities

Model Development

• Train and implement predictive and machine learning models to solve various trading, sales, and COO initiatives.Ability to work with Large Language models for Generative AI / Agentic AI applied to trading.
• Ability to set up agentic solutions for trading and sales initiatives
• Strong understanding of modelling Collaborate with the business or ops to own and implement high-performance advanced analytics solutions and models using Python, Cloudera, Dify, Spark, S3, SQL and Tableau

Data Initiatives and Analyses

• Perform exploratory statistical and data analysis and visualisation tasks on diverse datasets from small scale to “big data and present results in a clear manner.
• Support the delivery of analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to determine data required, assess time & effort required and establish timelines.
• Develop data ingestion pipeline and create the analytic data assets Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
• Set up dashboards or other UI tools for data visualisation tool.

Staying Updated in Data Science

• Take initiative in evaluating new approaches from data science research
• Inquisitive and like to explore new tools and packages
• Support the programs for changing the business culture towards more data driven

Others

• Lead, grow and develop junior team members
• Ability to divide larger problem into smaller potions/milestones whereby projects can have more attainable outcome and can be done by a team.

Job Requirements

• Degree, Honours, Masters or PhD in an analytics discipline;
• Good to have 2-5 years working experience in a similar data or analytics role with good knowledge of global financial market products;
• Ability to handle data including extraction, data processing and analyses.
• Ability to understand and implement AI and AI models;
• Good programming skills in Python or related packages;
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
