MSBI Developer

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable Business Intelligence and data integration solutions. The role requires strong SQL development skills, experience building ETL workflows, developing enterprise reports, optimizing database performance, and working with large volumes of data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain MSBI solutions using SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and SQL Server.
• Develop and maintain complex ETL/ELT workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Extract data from multiple data sources, transform it according to business requirements, and load it into data warehouses/data marts.
• Develop efficient T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and scripts.
• Design and develop enterprise reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Develop parameterized, drill-down, drill-through, and interactive reports.
• Work with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for analytical and multidimensional/tabular solutions.
• Design and maintain data warehouses, data marts, fact tables, and dimension tables.
• Apply dimensional modeling concepts including Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Implement data validation, reconciliation, cleansing, transformation, and error-handling processes.
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for better performance.
• Troubleshoot ETL job failures, data issues, and production defects.
• Maintain logging, auditing, exception handling, and restart/recovery mechanisms for ETL processes.
• Develop dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI where required.
• Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, DBAs, QA teams, and application development teams.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, system testing, and deployment activities.
• Follow coding standards, version-control practices, and release-management processes.
• Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis for BI and data-related issues.
• Work in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in MSBI/Business Intelligence development.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
• Good understanding of SSAS and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Experience in ETL design, development, testing, and production support.
• Strong SQL development and performance-tuning skills.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data transformations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
