Senior Data Engineer
This role focuses on architecting and scaling a Databricks-based data platform while establishing reusable engineering patterns and core infrastructure. The ideal candidate will leverage modern tools like AI-assisted coding to optimize data workflows and collaborate closely with a central platform team.

About this role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to help us build and scale our modern data platform. In this role, you will work closely under the guidance of our Central Platform Team to build our Databricks engineering framework, establish reusable development patterns, and advance our core codebase.

Qualifications
Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer working with Databricks.
Strong proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and Python within the Databricks ecosystem.
Hands-on experience with modern IDEs (VS Code) and version control workflows (Git / GitHub).
Familiarity or eager enthusiasm for using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT for code).
Experience implementing design patterns, reusable frameworks, and data pipeline modularization.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, platform-guided environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data engineering (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Work Location: 100% Remote within SPAIN.
- Working Hours: Ability to work full-time within the UK time zone
- Workload: Full-time (40h/week)
- Contract Type: Temporary / Fixed-Term Contract - 9 months
