About the role

Monks is a global digital marketing and data company integrating data, content, media, and technology for enterprise growth. Within our Data practice, the Data Technology team operates a unified data supply chain across two functional units: Data Tech Enablement (DTE) — upstream collection, tracking, and compliance — and Data Tech Engineering & Visualization (DEV) — downstream data warehousing, modeling, and business intelligence.

The Role

The Senior Analytics Specialist is a hands-on execution role focused on client-facing tracking implementation and analytics infrastructure. You'll deploy and maintain the tracking foundations that feed the broader data supply chain — configuring analytics platforms, deploying tags, implementing consent management, and running QA to make sure the data flowing into downstream systems is trustworthy.

You'll work under the direction of Pillar and Pod Leads, executing on client engagements across enterprise and mid-market accounts. This is a role for someone who is deeply technical, precise, and takes pride in getting implementations right the first time.

Key Responsibilities

Tracking Implementation: Configure and deploy analytics tracking across client web and app properties — event tracking, custom dimensions, conversion setup, cross-domain measurement, and data layer implementation

Tag Management: Build, test, and maintain tags, triggers, and variables in Google Tag Manager (or equivalent platforms), including server-side tagging deployments

Consent & Compliance: Implement and validate consent management platforms (CMPs) and privacy-compliant tracking setups across client accounts

QA & Data Quality: Audit existing implementations, identify data quality issues, and troubleshoot when tracking isn't behaving as expected

Documentation: Create and maintain implementation documentation, tracking specifications, and runbooks that support ongoing account management

Cross-Functional Support: Partner with the DEV team on downstream data flows, ensuring the data collected upstream maps cleanly to the warehousing and BI layer

Client Engagement: Attend client meetings to speak to technical implementation, answer platform-specific questions, and support Pod and Pillar Leads on scoping conversations

About you

Professional Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in data implementation, analytics engineering, or tracking-focused roles, with a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent client accounts.

Web Analytics & Tag Management: Expertise in Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM)—including data layer design, custom dimensions, server-side tagging, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with alternative platforms like Adobe Analytics and Amplitude is highly valued.

Frontend Development (Tracking-focused): Practical proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery to write, debug, and customize tracking scripts.

Data Engineering & Cloud Foundations: Strong SQL skills for querying cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) to validate data flows. Familiarity with Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and programming languages for data manipulation (Python or R).

Client & Communication Skills: Fluent English (written and spoken) with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Mindset & Collaboration: Customer-oriented approach with a strong drive to learn, innovate, and collaborate within a dynamic team environment.
