- Design and build a robust research, simulation, and backtesting framework with strong alignment between backtest assumptions and production behavior
- Develop tools and diagnostics to evaluate strategy performance, attribution, risk, and model stability
- Research and implement novel alpha signals across horizons ranging from intraday to multi-day
- Design portfolio construction and capital allocation approaches that balance expected return, risk, liquidity, and trading frictions
- Partner closely with traders and market-making teams to identify scalable opportunities arising from the interaction between systematic trading and the options franchise
- Work with engineering and SRE partners to productionize research outputs, improve system reliability, and strengthen monitoring and controls
- Evaluate expansion opportunities across new underlyings, products, and regional markets, including Asia
- Help define research standards, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in systematic options trading, with meaningful exposure to mid-frequency or short-horizon volatility strategies
- Demonstrated success in alpha research, signal evaluation, and portfolio construction within a live trading environment
- Strong understanding of options pricing, implied and realized volatility, Greeks, and risk management across multi-instrument portfolios
- Deep experience across the full research lifecycle, including idea generation, data analysis, simulation design, validation, production deployment, and post-deployment monitoring
- Strong programming skills in Python; experience building research libraries, analytics, and production-facing tools in a professional environment
- Excellent statistical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with a rigorous approach to experimentation and inference
- Experience working with large, high-dimensional market and trade data sets
- Good judgment in balancing research ambition with implementation realism, controls, and operational robustness
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with traders, researchers, engineers, and infrastructure partners
- Track record of ownership in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
