About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Data Scientist. In this role, you will:

  • Gather business requirements from different functional teams and translate them into suitable data solutions
  • Convert ambiguous business problems into concrete questions and hypotheses to be solved using data-driven multi-disciplinary problem-solving approaches
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques - such as statistical modelling, experimentation, and forecasting — where they add meaningful business value
  • Work with various partner teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Leverage data expertise and business understanding to perform analysis and deliver clear, compelling insights to influence business decisions
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, translating complex analytical outcomes into actionable narratives
  • Support BAU business intelligence activities on an ad-hoc basis as needed

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience with handling large volumes of data using SQL & Python (PySpark experience is a plus)
  • Proficient in Excel for data manipulation and analysis
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with experience communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Outstanding in interpersonal communications and stakeholder management
  • Experience in understanding business problems, translating them into requirements, and coming up with suitable data solutions
  • Hands-on experience with advanced analytics methods (e.g. A/B testing, regression, segmentation, forecasting)
  • Experience in e-Commerce or the internet industry is preferred
