Data Engineer & Process Automation Specialist

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to support and enhance our data and automation ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing scalable data architectures, developing high-performance data pipelines, managing database environments, supporting data migrations, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of data solutions.
The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on complex data challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of BNP Paribas Personal Finance's automation and process optimization initiatives. This position plays a key role in supporting our RPA journey and ensuring operational excellence through data-driven solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance data pipelines.
- Define and implement robust data models, schemas, and database structures.
- Manage deployments, releases, and version control processes across multiple environments.
- Execute and support data migration activities while ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues and system incidents.
- Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Provide expert recommendations to senior management regarding data architecture, performance, and optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to process automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Python development.
- Solid experience with data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development.
- Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of VBA is considered a plus.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management, and CI/CD principles.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and RPA environments is a strong advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Language Skills
- English: Professional/Fluent level (written and spoken).
