About this role
About the role
As an Associate Data Scientist III, GenAI Solutions at IHG, you will develop and deliver AI and machine learning solutions that support business decisions and create measurable value. You will work across predictive modeling, decisioning, NLP, and generative AI, taking defined problems from discovery through production with light oversight.
You will work closely with Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, and Technology teams. We value strong analytical thinking, technical curiosity, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to turn data into practical business outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Build, validate, and deploy AI/ML solutions for defined business problems, with accountability for quality, reproducibility, and fit-for-purpose results.
- Apply AI/ML and statistical techniques across prediction, classification, time series, segmentation, and decisioning.
- Develop NLP and generative AI solutions, including extraction, classification, summarization, RAG, and prompt-based applications.
- Contribute to agentic AI solutions, including tool use, workflow orchestration, routing, guardrails, and output traceability.
- Evaluate AI/ML solutions using appropriate benchmarks, validation methods, human review, and production performance measures.
- Contribute to the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of models and AI services across batch and real-time environments.
- Partner with Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, and Technology teams to build reusable capabilities and communicate findings, assumptions, and recommendations clearly.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Revenue Management) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience
3–5 years of relevant experience in Analytics, Data Science, GenAI Solutions, or a related field, with experience developing and delivering analytical or AI/ML solutions in a business environment.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Strong Python and SQL skills for data preparation, analytics, and model development.
- Working knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling, including regression, classification, time-series methods, model validation, and performance evaluation.
- Experience with ML/AI frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Gemini.
- Experience or working knowledge of LLM and NLP applications, including prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG, structured outputs, and information extraction.
- Working knowledge of agentic AI concepts, including tool calling, workflow orchestration, routing, guardrails, and observability.
- Understanding of AI/ML evaluation, experimentation, monitoring, and common modeling risks such as data leakage, bias, confounding, and poor validation.
- Experience working with cloud ML environments, preferably GCP/Vertex AI and BigQuery ML, and collaborative development practices such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical thinking, business curiosity, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly.
